TheExecutioner
over Chopos
|
|
Kari : Since Gerhard_Hofer could not be
contacted I made a decision that his semi-final opponent Chopos played in
final.
Chopos had to win 2 matches against TheExecutioner to win the tournament.
Chopos did win the first final-match but in second match TheExecutioner was
slightly better. So, TheExecutioner is the CHAMPION
of Summer Trial tournament and Chopos was second.
Congratulations for the FINALISTS and all the players, who participated in
this tourney!!! :) |

Marathon Tourney
February/April 2003
(46 players)
|
|
Main Bracket : mpopj
26
- 18 Iceborg |
Consolation Bracket :
TheExecutioner 17 - 16 AramKhan
|
|
After a
thrilling and long final (over 2 hours) Mpopj won the final (25pts) over
Iceborg 26-18. Both players really wanted to win the final
and what, I think, clearly showed the spirit and importance of the
match was that neither of them didn't even ask for brb :).
TheExecutioner: "It was indeed a very exciting 17
point final. Aram took an early lead which I temporarily managed to catch up
but then Aram took the lead again. At 13-8 for Aram, I had very little hope
for victory but then I managed to win 5 games in a row and turned the score
to 13-15 in my favour. Well, Aram didn't take that sitting down and went
ahead and won 3 games in a row himself making it 16-15 for Aram. In the
Crawford game, I put it all on the line and my strategy was to go for a
gammon which I managed. It doesn't get closer than that! Excellent match
Aram, always a pleasure to play you!" |

|
TheExecutioner: "I would sincerely like to
congratulate Kari for a well deserved victory! Not
only did Kari prove to be a very fine player, but a very
pleasant one as well :-). Thank you Kari for the good final and
congratulations again!"
Kari_Grandi: "Final of the blitz-tourney was a good
and even battle. We played all the games: score was 3-2. Luck was on my side
just that much that I needed :). Thanks to TheExecutioner from the good
games!!" |

Iceborg keep is crown and become the
first player with 2 league's Trophys. The match was a great one, take a look
at the GNU Analysis.
lewscannon: I'd like to congratulate
Iceborg on his well-earned victory in the fibsleague final match. He gets to
keep the golden tiara for another session. If only it had been a 1 pointer,
then I would've won. Unfortunately, that was the only time that I was ahead
in the match.
For the next session, there will be 2 divisions for the Master Champion
Title with 24 players to get Iceborg's crown. |

Happy Birthday
Tournament
November 2002 - January 2003
(64 players)
|
|
Main Bracket : AramKhan 15 -
13 Kari_Grandi
|
Consolation Bracket : Ufuk
15 - 11 Alef
|
|
Kari: Final was a good and long thriller. It took 2 hours to play
15 pts and finally Aram won it with great playing 15-13.
AramKhan: Thank you Kari :) It is
always a pleasure to play backgammon vs. a friend, whoever wins. Yes, the
match has been thrilling. :) In the end it's been like tossing a coin to
decide the winner, as DMP (on 14-13 post-crawford) ended with a race. At the
score of 12-12 with the cube at 2 we had enormous MWC swings in a few rolls,
and my luck rate in the match has been the highest.
Alef: Ufuk and I had a wonderful
match in the consolation final. He pulled far ahead with a massive 12-3 lead
in our 15ptr, but I held in there. I promised to win a doubled backgammon (and
almost did!) and got a few doubled gammons to bring things closer. At 13-11,
Ufuk still leading, I doubled but then fell back to a neck and neck race. He
won that game by one pip! Huge congrats to Ufuk, couldn't have lost to a
nicer guy. |

burper : Congrats to
lewscannon, who, with every ounce of skill and determination he could muster, was able to
overcome a fierce onslaught of burper-luck and squeek out a victory in the final
today. Most of you missed a real good one: 13-12. A 33 or better on my last roll
would have taken it, or a 12 by lew on his last, that's how close it was! If I ever
develop any skill to go along with this luck, you people are going to be in big
trouble.Nothing left to do now but go for the most gracious loser award.
Biggles_two promise a win in the next League ! ( We'll see ;-) ) |
